Born in Barcelona,Spain. He began his music studies with Guillem Bernabe. David obtained his final “Professional degree” at the Conservatori de Terrassa (Barcelona), with the highest grade of ”Excellent”. Afterwards he enrolled at the Conservatori Superior Oscar Esplà of Alicante, where he continued to develop his studies with professor Jose Tomas , graduating with the distinction, Matricula de Honor.
Later on, he pursued his studies at the Escola d’Arts Musicals Luthier in Barcelona, with teachers Manuel Gonzalez, Fernando Rodriguez, Arnadur Arnalson, and taking part in numerous Master clases with prestigious teachers as: David Russell, Carles Trepat, Hopkinson Smith, Alvaro Pierri, Roberto Aussell, Manuel Barrueco,Rolf Lislevand , Andrew Laurence-King, Jordi Savall...
In 1995,obtained the seats of professor of guitar in the “Conservatori de Musica d’ Igualada” (Barcelona), and conductor of the Guitar Orchestra “Pulpstrings”. Coordinator of the department of Early Music at the Conservatory, he also gives classes of Basso Continuo and Ancient instruments.
David specializes in the interpretation of those ancient instruments: Baroque Guitar, Theorbo, Liuto, and Vihuela, as well of , Basso Continuo at the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya) with the teachers Xavi Diaz and Mónica Pustilnik and at the “Conservatoire de Toulouse” with Beatrice Pornon. He is the basso continuo of the “Orchestre Baroque du Conservatoire de Toulouse” (France) directed by Gilles Colliart,with works of Haendel, Purcell, Monteverdi...
Member from 1992 to 2001 of the "BARCELONA MOSAIC GUITAR QUARTET" together recorded two compact discs.
He is one the active performers of the Trio Amandi, one of the Catalan groups with most projection, from Catalonia. In 1998 recorded a CD of original music for Flute, Alto and Guitar, "MÚSICA GALANTE DEL S.XIX"
Catalan composers have dedicated their original works to the Trio Amandi.
David is the founder of the"CAMERATA ITALIANA"(string quartet and guitar) interpreting concertos of Antonio Vivaldi as well as quintets from Luigi Boccherini.
ANTIQUM XXI , creator and founder in 2000 of this group especializing in repertory of Early music (voice, violin, violoncello, hapsichord, theorbe, baroque guitar and percussion) .
He is the creator of the spectacle TIERRA. Featuring the works of musicians, composers, and poets of the generation of the 27 (G.Lorca, R.Alberti, M.de Falla) aiming to give the concert a very original mixture, that blends: guitar, voice, dance and the limelight’s of the scene.
David’s career as a recital performer has been developed as much nationally as internationally from Catalunya, Aragon, Euskadi, Italy, France, Germany ,Holland, Iceland, Usa. He as been awarded in several competitions, and qualified first, at the IX TORNEO INTERNAZIONALE DI MUSICA, Zaragoza año 2000.
In 2005 he imparted a Course for “Orchestra of Guitars” and a Course of “Early Music” (Chitarra Antica e d’Insieme) at the “Conservatorio di Musica” F.Torrefranca di Vibo Valentia (Calábria- Italy).
In January of the 2006 participates in the world-wide opening of the opera ,“El Patriarca de San José”, of José Prades (1714) and, of ”Villancicos de los Maestros de Capilla de la Concatedral de Castelló” at “Palau de la Musica de València “ (Iturbi's hall) with the prestigious “Capella Saetabis.”·
He was invited in May of 2006, to be a member of the Jury for the “International Concorso di Música “ ANEMOS (Rome) and to impart a concert of Early instruments.
He is the continuo for “Cambra 16”, choir and Baroque Orchestra.
David is being invited to be the continuo (theorba and baroque guitar) for several musical formations.
Interpreter of baroque repertoire, he uses a theorba of luthier Jaume Bosser as well as ,a baroque guitar created by luthier Peter Biffint, a romantic guitar of Patrich Hopmans and a Spanish guitar signed luthier Alexander. With these four instruments David gives a concert program that shows the different styles, and the evolution of the guitar.
In December of 2001 he honored Maestro JOAQUÍN RODRIGO, interpreting, under the conductor Jordi Mora the Concert for guitar and orchestra ,"FANTASIA PARA UN GENTILHOMBRE".
